Gary Gentry

“There is no one word that adequately describes me,” said Gary B. Gentry. So the Premier co-founder and president chose two - energetic and intense.

Born March 27, 1949, he earned a BA and MA in psychology and worked for 22 years as a school psychologist. He worked for 12 years as minister of music before founding SonSounds Productions in South Carolina. In 1996, he and Roy Morgan joined forces to found Premier Productions.

Gary has been married to Deborah for 37 years – “the best decision I’ve ever made – after becoming a Christian,” he said. The couple has two children, Steffanie and Rebekah and three grandchildren – Emilie, Durham and Sara Katherin. Gary enjoys all kinds of sports, reading, boating and traveling. He grew up listening to the Imperials and the Moody Blues. Today, his favorite artists are “any artist Premier Productions is promoting,” he said.

Through contemporary Christian music he enjoys “the opportunity to impact lives for Christ through the medium of music.”

Premier’s Family takes five minutes to answer five little questions about themselves

1. What’s your history with Premier? Gary and I established the company back in 1996. Over the last 12 years, we’ve had the privilege of promoting over 2,000 events through the Premier name. The exciting part is that over 7 million people have attended these events. Our incredible staff has forged the way to help us accomplish these goals.

2. What’s happening in your family life right now? My wife Kathy and I are celebrating 28 years of marriage. God has blessed me dearly with her. She’s the best! We have three wonderful children. Justin is 24 years old and will graduate from Liberty University in Lynchburg VA. He just published his first novel and is also an established songwriter. Dallas is 21, graduated from the Los Angeles Film School, and is currently living in North Hollywood CA. He owns Brighter Moon Productions, and is working on his career in the film and media industry. Mary Ashley is 17 years old and is the little darling of my life. She’s a sophomore in high school, is a great basketball and softball player, and very active in our church youth group. I told her that she couldn’t start dating until she was 48…and then it would only be a discussion point.

3. Who is the most interesting person you’ve met through Premier? No one in particular. Even though we work with a lot of celebrity artists, speakers, and entertainers, we treat them as ordinary folks. I’m just as fascinated with the average guy on the street, because we are a pretty ordinary bunch of people ourselves.

4. What’s one great memory you’ve made at Premier? Standing beside a stage and watching an artist or speaker connect with thousands of attendees. It’s the most fulfilling part of our work. This one memory is duplicated at every event we do.

5. Give us one NUMBER and tell us why that number is significant to you! The number it takes to sell out an event because it represents the number of lives we hope to impact in an eternal and positive way.

Shane Quick, Vice President Concert Division

Shane Quick is the newest addition to the Premier Productions staff. He owned and operated Re al Life Promotions for five years, turning it into one of the fastest growing concert promotion companies in the country. As vice president of the concert division at Premier, he is “dedicated to seeing Premier Productions grow in reaching the masses with the greatest message the world has ever known,” he said “- Jesus.” Since 2004, he has worked with the Gospel Music Association MAPS Steering Committee, planning and creating seminars for GMA Week.

When he’s not working, Shane enjoys traveling, playing drums and working with teenagers. He and his wife Kim have one son, Ethan. If Shane had to choose one word to describe himself, he said, it would be “passionate.”

Premier’s Family takes five minutes to answer five little questions about themselves

1. What’s your history with Premier? I began working for the company part-time in 1995 as an office assistant while attending college. After graduating in 1997, I began working for Premier Productions full-time. I have been so blessed to work for The Premier Group over the years and look forward to many more!

2. What’s happening in your family life right now? I have been married to my wonderful husband, Mitch, since 2002. We have two cats named Gracie and Lacy. We both enjoy going to sporting events, running, working in the yard and spending time with friends and family.

3. Who is the most interesting person you’ve met through Premier?

4. What’s one great memory you’ve made at Premier? There have been lots of great memories over the years working at Premier. I’d have to say that Winter Jam definitely comes to mind as a great memory. It’s been incredible to see this tour grow from year to year to become the largest attended Christian tour.

5. Give us one NUMBER and tell us why that number is significant to you! I would have to say 22 because it is my wedding anniversary date.

Shannon Habas, Media Relations Director

It’s not surprising that the best word to describe Shannon Habas is charismatic. She has worked as a professional clown since she was a kid, and at age 21, she opened her own clown business, which is still a great hobby of hers.

Contemporary Christian music is another great passion she has pursued most of her life, begging her parents to let her hand out flyers at Petra and Mylon Le Fever concerts at about age 12. More than a decade ago, she began volunteering for Premier Productions concerts. A year ago, she stepped into the role as Premier’s Regional Concert Director in the Columbia area, where she was very successful at this “part-time” adventure.

She is married to Sean Habas and the two have a virtual Noah’s Ark of pets. As Media Relations Director, Shannon does “whatever they ask me to do!” she said. “Seriously, I buy the radio advertising.”

Wendy Gray, Concert Coordinator

Premier’s concert coordinator is Wendy Gray. With a degree in elementary education, she came to the company in July 2003. Wendy sets up the ticketing for all Premier concerts. She also works closely with local coordinators on the grass roots promotions in each concert city.

Married to L. Lavon Gray, they have two children – Kayla, 16 and Lizzie, 13. She enjoys gardening and traveling. Her favorite Christian music artists these days are Casting Crowns, Mark Schultz and Chris Tomlin.

The one word that best describes her is “impatient,” Wendy said.
