Premier brings winning team to every endeavor

It takes more than two people to make a successful promotions company. Although Roy Morgan and Gary Gentry combined their businesses more than a decade ago, they couldn’t have done it alone.

What began as two friends combining their very successful businesses into one has become a multi-faceted company. Through the years, The Premier Group has grown exponentially and is now the parent of three growing protégés:

• Premier Productions, which promotes exclusively Christian concerts, speakers, comedians and events;
• Premier Christian Cruises, which offers unique wholesome cruises with contemporary Christian artists, and nationally known speakers and comedians; and
• Premier Foundation, which aims to further God’s kingdom by raising money for charity and to continue the work of Premier for generations to come. The foundation has raised more than $1 million and donated over $500,000 to Christ-centered charities, to date.

With Gentry as president and Morgan as vice president of the parent company, The Premier Group, the concert and event division - Premier Productions - includes Robyn Klass, marketing director; Shannon Habas, media relations director; Wendy Gray, concert coordinator; Kathy Morgan, catering coordinator; Debbie Gentry, tour assistant and Vonda Byerly, bookkeeper; and Shane Quick, who recently merged his company with Premier and now holds the title of vice president of the concert division.

Premier Christian Cruises, which began in 2003, by offering the K-LOVE Friends & Family Music Cruise, has expanded. Now, hosting its own in-house Travel Agency, Premier Christian Cruises employs Darrell Burrow, director of sales; William Montgomery, sales manager; Beth Wallace, administrative assistant; and Cruise Consultants - Kathy Butt, Janet Coates and Bradley Hill.

In addition to their long-standing WinterJam tradition, the company promotes over 150 concerts and events a year, recently joined in promoting the annual Extraordinary Women conferences, coordinates three annual cruises – K-LOVE Friends & Family Music Cruise, The Music Boat and Girl’s Get-A-Way – as well as specialty cruises and, through the Foundation, donates a portion of its proceeds to charity each year.

More than 10 years ago, Morgan and Gentry aspired to the lofty goal of promoting 100 concerts in their first year together. As new partners in The Premier Group, the two long-time friends exceeded their goal with 101. That upward trend has only continued.

"The greatest thrill a few years ago was when our staff gave us a plaque that congratulated us on affecting the lives of over 1 million people in one year,” Morgan said. Overall, Premier has reached more than 6 million people through Christian concerts and events during their tenure.

Numbers aside, the goal of The Premier Group has remained the same over the past decade. “Our primary goal is to make a significant difference for Jesus Christ in the lives of as many people as we can through our company,” Gentry said.

As the two business partners look ahead to the future, they are quick to give credit where they think it is due.

“None of this would have happened without the support of our wives and our tremendous staff,” Morgan said. “We are blessed to have a team of employees who are skilled, knowledgeable, and talented. They are the best.”

Gentry agrees wholeheartedly on these points. “We have a group of talented, committed people on board with us who share our vision. God gave us wives who love us enough to allow us to pursue our dreams and God’s will. For that we are blessed and thankful.”
